Materials
Mannequins, pattern tables and industrial sewing machines are provided.
All classes:
Industrial Bobbin case and bobbin - available for $15 from Fashion Department Technicians, Fabric scissors, paper scissors, pins, notebooks, pens/pencils, rulers, tape measures, cameras, and any other dressmaking equipment you wish to use.
You can bring your own garment blocks if you'd like to - some can be provided in standard sizes.
Subtraction Cutting Master Class:
Fabric: TWO fabrics each 3meters long x 100cm wide (minimum) any type/weight/kind, with threads to match. See here for how to pre-prepare it if you want to save time
Zero Waste Master Class:
Approximately 3m of any fabric (or more to give yourself more options). Consider what type of garment you'd like to attempt and get appropriate fabric. If unsure can use calico.
Drape Master Class:
Fabric – not knit (suggest cotton calico if inexperienced)
2 coloured biro pens, technical pencil, set square (can be provided ), tracing wheel (can be provided)
Freeflow Master Class:
Students to bring work (garments) they have done in other workshops
