Participants will learn these techtiques and make one SubCut garment.
- Zero Waste Fashion Design - Timo Rissanen and Holly McQuillan the curators of Zero Waste Fashion exhibtion YIELD: Making fashion without making waste and during this 6 hours master-class participants will learn the techniques to design and make a zero waste garment
2A or 2B 3 hour Master-classes
Saturday 16/07: 9am - 12pm
- Drape: Shaping and extending the body - Deb Cumming and Lilian Mutsaers. This three hour workshop introduces concepts and processes of drape which encourage risk-taking in design development. The relationship between fabric and the body, through contouring and added fullness, is explored with drape techniques. This workshop can also provide an optional opportunity for continued experimentation with techniques from the Subtraction cutting and Zero waste workshops which can be further resolved on the form. Assistance is available to resolve and construct the drape designs to prototype stage. All levels of skill are accepted as exercises and instruction can be adjusted.
- Freeflow - Jennifer Whitty: This workshop is an adventure in risk taking, and cultivating uncertainty which will encourage a more holistic approach to design offering alternatives to the negative impacts of industry practices.
Saturday 16/07: 1pm - 6pm in The Dressing Room
- The Cutting Circle Forum: Collaborative exploration between the master-class participants of the intersections of Subtraction Cutting and Zero Waste Fashion design.
